Just because it is December, doesn't mean that you have to put your fitness on hold until the New Year!
This is the time of year that the gym attendance typically drops. It is a lot easier to put your fitness routine on hold with the hustle and bustle of holiday gift shopping, parties and knowing that you plan to "get back on track" with your New Year's Resolutions for 2011.
With the average American gaining between 8-10 pounds between now and New year, why get off track now and have to try to play catch up in the New Year?
Exercise has numerous health benefits that can help you get through this holiday season. It helps reduce stress, lower your blood pressure, improve your mood, maintain your weight and more.
Stay focused through the holidays. If you need help, here are some tips on how to do that:
- Set your fitness goals now! Why wait until the New Year when you can start today?
- Make a weekly commitment to move more. If you expend extra calories each day, you will be better able to maintain your weight through the holidays.
- Recruit a friend. Joining a group or making the commitment with a friend can help you stay on track.
- Start a food log. If you write down what you eat, it will keep you more accountable to those rich holiday foods that you might have otherwise indulged in.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
Make it a healthy and happy holiday season
